Angelina Coccimiglio, MSW RSW

Angelina is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and has recently earned an MSW from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work in the field of Mental Health and Health. During her degree, she was awarded the FIFSW Alumni Scholarship for involvement in activities that enhance the student experience and additionally completed Interprofessional Education Certificate with a Letter of Distinction.

Coming to social work by way of the arts, she is passionate about creativity and story-telling. She has experience working in individual and group settings with arts-based interventions, mindfulness and meditation, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy, and enjoys designing and delivering psychoeducation content online, in session, and in workshops. As a cancer survivor, Angelina is motivated by the power of collaboration such as in group work and Communities of Practice, knowing that we are each the sum of the support network around us.

In her recreational time, she is the creator of the Eavesdrop Series project, a curated selection of found handwriting that was featured on Breakfast Television, CBC Radio One, and Susan Hay’s Here and Now for Global TV. She also sits on the FIFSW Alumni Association Board of Directors as the Outreach & Engagement Chair and volunteers with WoodGreen Community Services as a counsellor in their Walk-in Counselling program.
